Toronto, ON (April 21, 2016): LIFT Impact Partners is pleased to announce TD Bank Group has made a $500,000-gift and becomes the Founding Partner of LIFT’s Education Impact Fund. TD was one of LIFT’s first corporate donors in 2012, and this renewal of support demonstrates how TD and LIFT are helping to strengthen and increase the impact of social purpose organizations across Canada. Both organizations are supporters of educational initiatives in Canada, including financial literacy. “In TD, we have a partner who shares our belief that a good education is the foundation for the long-term well-being of individuals, families and communities. In particular, TD is a proponent for financial literacy as a foundation for individual and national prosperity,” says Bruce Dewar, president and chief executive officer, LIFT Impact Partners. TD and LIFT both support JUMP Math, a Toronto-based organization with proven success teaching students in grades 1-8 to love and succeed at math. With hands-on support from LIFT and its pro bono partners over the last three years, along with TD’s financial support, JUMP Math has reached 35 per cent more students with its program. It has a long-term plan for continued growth both in Canada and the United States. “TD is thrilled to provide continued support for LIFT and help strengthen social organizations that are making a significant impact in communities across Canada,” said Scott Mullin, vice president, community relations, TD Bank Group. “As part of our commitment to education and building stronger communities, this gift will help enhance LIFT’s efforts to drive greater social outcomes for Canada’s most vulnerable people." About TD Community Giving: TD Bank Group invests in communities in order to effect positive change in the places where it operates and where its customers and employees live and work. In 2015, TD donated more than $92.5 million to community organizations in Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom.
