Sonetta Sequeira is a Manager, Knowledge and Innovation at LIFT, responsible for supporting the social impact and impact investing teams to achieve its social impact goals.

Prior to LIFT, Sonetta worked at the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, where she supported the development and implementation of the Ontario Indigenous Children and Youth Strategy. Her work on the Strategy included policy recommendations on self-governance models and the co-development of performance measurement frameworks to help government and Indigenous service providers track, evaluate, and improve outcomes for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis children, youth, families, and communities. Sonetta’s experience also includes assisting with refugee and humanitarian cases at an immigration law firm, as well as supporting impact reporting and communications for UNICEF and the World Food Programme. She currently serves on the board of Defence for Children International – Canada. 

Sonetta holds a B.A. Honors Specialization in International Relations from the University of Western Ontario.
