Vancouver, B.C. (July 23, 2013): BMO Financial Group is donating $150,000 over three years to LIFT Impact Partners to help not-for-profit organizations in Canada increase their social impact. The donation will support LIFT’s efforts to strengthen not-for-profit organizations, so they can improve the health and productivity of Canadians.

“BMO is pleased to support LIFT’s partnership approach to engaging the private sector with not-for-profit organizations. We commend their collaborative approach to improving the operations, measurement practices, and financial sustainability of key non-profits which can only enhance the livability of our communities,” said Joanne Gassman, senior vice-president, B.C. & Yukon Division, BMO Bank of Montreal.

LIFT provides not-for-profit and other social purpose organizations with a valuable combination of skills, expertise and resources to improve their operations and increase their social impact. LIFT uses a venture philanthropy approach where it engages a partner network of pro bono businesses, service providers and other experts to build the capacity of social purpose organizations.

“LIFT Impact Partners thanks BMO Financial Group for its commitment to our mission of investing in social change by developing stronger, more effective social purpose organizations to improve the health, skills, education and employment of Canadians,” said Bruce Dewar, chief executive officer, LIFT Impact Partners.
