Angela Armstrong
Director
Angela Armstrong is the Founder and President of Prime Capital Group, a direct lender based in Edmonton specializing in equipment finance solutions that enable Canadian businesses to scale and grow. Angela believes that culture is stemmed in community and care and brings that philosophy into the organization she leads. Prime Capital Group supports employees’ engagements in community initiatives such as raising funds to build a Children’s Mental Health Facility in Calgary through the Raising Spirits Initiative or working in community to serve unhoused through its #We’ve Got Your Backpack program.
Angela previously served as Board Chair for Women Building Futures, a social purpose organization dedicated to transforming the lives of underemployed women through employer sponsored pre apprenticeship and trade programs, with positive effects for the women and industry. Through board and community volunteer work as a soccer coach and finance mentor for engaged couples and young entrepreneurs, Angela lives her value of creating sustainable, fiscally prudent community-wide integrated resources which work with families and individuals to educate, inspire, and build healthy communities.
Angela holds an honorary degree in Business Administration, in addition to her Honours Bachelor of Psychology and Criminology from the University of Manitoba. She was recognized in 2023 with a Queen Elizabeth Jubilee medal for her work with Women Building Futures. In addition to her Board role with LIFT, Angela is also past chair for the Canadian Finance & Leasing Association, a Toronto-based board serving the asset financing sector in Canada. She is also a board advisor for the IMYEG innovation accelerator and past chair for Synergy Network.
