Vancouver, B.C. - LIFT Impact Partners is pleased to announce Kristi Miller and Salima Remtulla have joined its board of directors.
“We are very pleased to welcome both Kristi and Salima to our board of directors,” said Glenn Wong, Chair of the Board, LIFT Impact Partners. “Kristi and Salima are both passionate about making an impact in their community, and we look forward to their expertise and energy as LIFT continues its efforts to support transformational social change, increasing the impact and sustainability of social purpose organizations across Canada.”
Kristi is a passionate believer in the power of Canadian entrepreneurs, focusing every day on driving and delivering positive change. Most recently, Kristi returned to her entrepreneurial roots, joining NPC Ventures, a new venture fund focused on companies at the early stages of commercialization in the natural products sector, as Managing Partner. Previously, as Founder and former National Managing Director of First West Capital, a junior capital firm serving the Canadian mid-market, Kristi grew that business from start-up to a national firm that funded over $250 million to more than 100 businesses. Kristi is honoured to have been recognized by EY as the Pacific Region’s 2019 Entrepreneur of the Year in the category of Business Disrupter for this work. Kristi currently serves on a number of corporate, public sector and non-profit boards, and was recognized for her outstanding community involvement in 2017, when she received the Canadian Venture Capital Association’s Ted Anderson Community Leadership Award.
Salima drives organizational change as Vice President, Operations & Corporate Strategy at Leith Wheeler Investment Counsel Ltd, which involves everything from overhauling client reporting and implementing new technology, to empowering support teams and assessing strategic threats and opportunities. Salima is a 2018 Business in Vancouver Top 40 Under 40 honouree, and a strong advocate for diversity and inclusive workplaces. Previously, Salima was the COO of Global Private Investing at D. E. Shaw & Co. LP, a multi-strategy hedge fund headquartered in New York City.
We are grateful to have Kristi and Salima join our dedicated group of directors who continue to provide strategic governance and champion LIFT’s vision of a truly inclusive Canada where all communities and people thrive.
