LIFT aims to transform the lives of vulnerable and at-risk Canadians who, for a variety of reasons, experience barriers to good health, educational attainment, gainful employment and prosperity. This work includes Aboriginal Canadians, whose well-being remains below other Canadians, despite representing a large and growing segment of our population.
LIFT has committed to exploring the effectiveness of venture philanthropy in strengthening and building the capacity of social purpose organizations that provide services for Aboriginal people. Over the next three years, we plan to invest in at least four organizations that improve health, education and employment outcomes for Aboriginal Canadians.
Our work will be funded by donations to LIFT’s Aboriginal Impact Fund, and will be guided by an advisory committee of respected voices in the Aboriginal community. A report of key finding will be published at the conclusion of a three-year period. Stay tuned for the more information on our work in this area, or contact us directly for more information.
