“Having LIFT involved has helped accelerate the change process in a truly collaborative manner.”
Claudia Hepburn, CEO

Windmill Microlending (formally known as Immigrant Access Fund) supports newcomers equipped with professional skills and experience, but facing significant barriers to employment. Windmill helps these individuals reach their economic potential and contribute to Canada’s economic and social success. Windmill provides character-based micro loans of up to $10,000 to internationally trained immigrants, supported by funding from the private and public sectors. These loans can be used to pay for exams, training, qualification assessments, professional fees, course materials, living allowances and other expenses related to obtaining the Canadian licensing or training they need.

Accelerate the economic integration of immigrants by offering micro loans to more immigrants and refugees in need across Canada.

Build additional organizational capacity, review the program and support enhancements for growth, diversify Windmill’s funding, develop strategic marketing and communications capacity, and improve performance measurement.
