Chief Impact Officer
Sheryl brings over 25 years of corporate, commercial and financial expertise, in both the private and not-for-profit sectors, to LIFT. As Chief Impact Officer, Sheryl is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the social purpose organizations (SPOs) in the LIFT portfolio. More specifically, she leads the LIFT work to assist SPOs to increase their capacity and social impact.
As a precursor to LIFT, Sheryl spent seven years as chief financial officer for 2010 Legacies Now, an organization that was dedicated to creating inclusive social and economic legacies around the province leading up to and beyond the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. She is applying the key learnings (collaboration, multi-year commitments and outcome measurement) to the SPOs in the LIFT portfolio.
Sheryl currently serves on the board of EasyPark and chairs the Finance Committee. She has previously served as a director for Legal Services Society of BC and the YWCA for Metro Vancouver and is an honorary director for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society.
After completing a B. Comm at the University of British Columbia, Sheryl worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP where she completed her chartered professional accountant designation. She also worked with Enbridge Services, first as a manager of finance and administration and then as the manager of BC operations. She was involved with the sale of Enbridge Services to Direct Energy in March 2002, and managed the transition and ultimate closure of the BC operations. She then served as director of business effectiveness for the commercial business division with Direct Energy in Toronto.
