Julienne Hills

Senior Manager, Social Impact

Julienne is part of LIFT’s social impact team that supports the planning, capacity building and scaling of social purpose organizations in LIFT’s portfolio to affect meaningful and measurable impact.

She has enjoyed a diverse professional background, much of it spent working closely with SPOs, as a funder, fundraiser, lawyer and volunteer.  A seminal experience early in Julienne’s career was joining a small start-up team (Sierra Legal Defence Fund, now EcoJustice), and playing a key role in building it into a prominent national organization. More recently, Julienne was part of the Community Leadership team at Coast Capital Savings Credit Union that invests approximately $5 million annually in local SPOs working to create impact in financial literacy, mental health, homelessness, education and start-up entrepreneurship.

As a lawyer, she provided legal and strategic advice to community organizations, small businesses and individuals primarily in land use planning, municipal and environmental law.

Julienne holds a B.A. in Political Science from Smith College and a LL.B. from Dalhousie University.
