LIFT launches #MakeGoodBetter campaign

Vancouver, BC (July 21, 2015): LIFT launches a national awareness and fundraising campaign today to ask Canadians to join the venture philanthropy organization in making “good” better. The campaign aims to bring attention to how LIFT’s work amplifies the impact and effectiveness of social purpose organizations, turning good causes into great investments.

“We are launching this campaign to spread the word about the effectiveness of venture philanthropy and the results LIFT is already achieving using this approach,” explained Jane Pepino, board chair of LIFT. “We hope to educate Canadians on how they can be smarter with their philanthropic investments and what they should expect their money to achieve.”

The campaign includes a tongue-in-cheek music video about how Canadians can better support non-profits, social enterprises, charities and other social purpose organizations to improve their performance and deliver greater impact.

The launch of the campaign coincides with LIFT’s announcement of its National Leadership Council, a group of influential Canadians who will champion LIFT’s venture philanthropy approach and contribute expertise, networking and fundraising efforts to support the organization.

“The accomplished Canadians on our National Leadership Council believe in the power of the social sector to make a real difference in the lives of Canadians,” Bruce Dewar, chief executive officer of LIFT. “They are helping us to inspire Canadians and donors to join us to make doing good better.”
