LIFT Philanthropy Partners strengthens social purpose organizations, including not-for-profits, social enterprises and other organizations, to become sustainable and more effective at delivering measurable social impact that improves the health and productivity of Canadians and their communities. LIFT provides these organizations with a valuable combination of skills, expertise and resources to improve their operations and increase their social impact.

LIFT works with a social purpose organization for up to three years to develop and implement a strategic LIFT plan to improve accountability, establish performance metrics, and increase capacity to deliver social impact. The LIFT model incorporates concepts of venture philanthropy approach, where its team works closely with the social purpose organization, and engages a partner network of leading businesses, service providers and other experts to build the organization’s capacity.

LIFT invests in social purpose organizations that have a direct and positive effect on the health and productivity of Canadians and their communities. LIFT selects organizations with proven success addressing health, skills, education and employment to help Canadians access the skills and support they need to make positive and lasting contributions to the social and economic success of the country.

LIFT leverages financial investments with the value-added expertise of the LIFT team and its pro bono partner network to build stronger and more effective social purpose organizations. LIFT emphasizes measurement, reporting, and accountability to multiply the effectiveness of dollars invested and ensure the social return on investment continues to increase over time.

LIFT evolved from 2010 Legacies Now, where it leveraged the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games to create social impact in British Columbia. Since inception in 2000, 2010 Legacies Now has earned an international reputation as a leader in advancing lasting social change, and has shared its social innovation model with cities and events throughout the world.
