We are a partnership of like-minded people who believe in not simply donating to charity, but in creating prosperity for all Canadians. We invest in social change by selectively allocating our resources, expertise and money to social purpose organizations with unrealized growth potential that can affect meaningful, measurable and scalable outcomes.

In short, we support those looking for a hand up, not a hand out.

Our Legacy

LIFT is a not-for-profit organization that evolved from 2010 Legacies Now, where we leveraged the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games to create social and economic benefits in communities throughout British Columbia. We are considered a best practice by the International Olympic Committee, we are recognized as a leader in advancing social change, and we have shared our social innovation model with cities and events throughout the world.

Through 2010 Legacies Now, our team developed effective partnerships to drive social change, and we elevated community programs and projects across the province to be leaders in their areas of work. We have proven to be a collaborative, inspiring, progressive and impactful partner who values accountability, measurement, optimal performance and certainty. Fuelled by this experience and knowledge gained over the past decade, LIFT was formally launched in 2011 to build the capacity of social purpose organizations Canada-wide.

LIFT Today

As LIFT, our interest lies in not-for-profit, social enterprises and other organizations that address health, skills development, education and employment. We narrow our focus to organizations with proven track records and unrealized potential for substantial growth. With the support of an extensive national partner network of leading business, service providers and other experts that offer pro bono services, we provide these select organizations with a valuable combination of skills, expertise and resources to improve their operations, accountability and measurement practices over the long-term.

Our Vision: We aim to be a leader in advancing positive and lasting social change.

Our Mission: We strengthen social purpose organizations to make them sustainable and effective at delivering social impact that improves the health and productivity of Canadians.
