The Play Exchange wants healthy living ideas from schools

Posted by: Nicole Mezzarobba Ford

Did you know that nine out of 10 children do not get the recommended amount of one hour of physical activity every day? The Play Exchange is challenging schools across Canada to share ideas for getting children healthier and more active!

The Play Exchange wants to hear from students, teachers, principals, school boards and parent’s councils on ways to promote active, healthy living across Canada. The top idea submitted by a school in each province and territory that helps children achieve one hour of physical activity every day will receive $3,000 to put their idea into action!

In addition to this, every idea submitted by a school is entered into The Play Exchange‘s nation-wide search for innovative healthy living ideas. The top idea in the overall challenge will receive up to $1 million from the Government of Canada!

The Play Exchange is funded, in part, by the Government of Canada, Canadian Tire, CBC and LIFT Philanthropy Partners. The Play Exchange’s Active at School Challenge is funded by the Government of Canada and Canadian Tire.
